Renae Scott founded Bee Collaborative in 2022 after spending over two decades working inside marketing teams, leading departments, and helping businesses grow through both easy seasons and hard ones.
Over the years, she saw too many businesses struggling — not because they lacked good ideas, but because they didn’t have the right person guiding their marketing decisions.

It Started With a Catalogue & Curiosity
Ever since Renae was a little girl collecting rocks along the shores of Lake Michigan and selling them on a dead-end street in northwest Indiana, she’s had a natural curiosity—and a passion for discovering and sharing value in the world around her.
Around that same age, when the holiday catalogs from JCPenney, Sears, and Toys "R" Us arrived, she would circle her wish list items with anticipation and dreaming not just of gifts, but of possibilities.
That early love for exploring, curating, and connecting desires with opportunities laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong career in marketing.
Renae began her professional journey at Victoria’s Secret, where she spent 16 years honing her skills and mastering the art of brand storytelling. She thrived on crafting best-in-class marketing touchpoints that connected with customers on a deep, emotional level.
Today, she brings that same passion and experience to Bee Collaborative LLC, the strategic marketing consultancy she founded.
Her purpose is simple: to help small businesses grow by uncovering what makes them truly special—and building a marketing strategy that reflects it. Renae believes every business has a story worth telling and value worth sharing. Over the past 20+ years, she worked inside large retail brands, consumer businesses, and family-run retailers — seeing up close how easily marketing can drift off course without someone at the wheel.
She founded Bee Collaborative to offer that steady hand — to the companies who need it most.
Her work is grounded in experience, shaped by the realities of running marketing teams day after day, and guided by the belief that marketing should always serve the bigger story of a business, not distract from it.

What’s in a Name
When Renae set out to name her business, she knew one word had to be part of it: Collaborative. That word captured her entire approach: working alongside clients, building solutions together, and creating momentum through shared purpose.
She explored countless combinations and domain names, returning again and again to Be Collaborative. It felt right. But the domain? Out of reach.
That’s when something clicked.
As a flower gardening enthusiast, Renae had always admired bees—their beauty, their role in nature, and most of all, the way they collaborate. Bees that work together produce more honey than those working alone. They thrive through connection, coordination, and shared effort. Just like great marketing.
And just like that, Bee Collaborative was born.
